Home Education

Children do not always thrive in a school environment due to a multitude of reasons and with access to as much community, information, support and opportunity as we have today, there is little reason why a child wouldn't thrive when home educated by a loving caregiver.

As parents we often have to fight to advocate for our children's rights to consensual, collaborative and mutually respectful educational experiences and so you may not find yourself home educating simply because you wanted to, we understand more than most how difficult a time this is as you fight for inclusivity and your child's access to education. 

 

We understand that this period of time is daunting and may make you feel somewhat anxious about failing them, or not getting things right. Trust us when we say that whilst you will make mistakes, we all do, teachers do, established home educators do. It's how we rise from those moments that count. 

 

Our Home Education Lead, Kelly Rigg - Home Education Mentor & Coach and founder of Offroading Motherhood, is in the process of producing some brilliant resources for you to access that will help you to cement your certainty, deschool your understanding of education, establish your community, curate your curriculum and so much more - watch this space!

With a local co-operative and our Lottery Arts Council Funded Drama Club already established, we are also working on building a calendar of local events that will allow you to build your community, offer discounted or free opportunities for your child's education and workshops for parents and young adults alike to aid you on your journey through education with your child and into their future.​​​​​
